The Gender Identity Clinic at the Chalmers Centre in Edinburgh offers a triage service to transitioning people and their families. This includes people who may be experiencing gender dysphoria; a condition where a person experiences discomfort or distress because there is a mismatch between their biological sex and gender identity.
Our multidisciplinary team of experienced professionals includes a Consultant Psychiatrist, a Nurse Practitioner and an Administrator. We have two specialists in training attached to the team and are supported by professionals in endocrinology and speech and language.
We are able to see anyone over the age of 17 who resides in the NHS Lothian, Borders or Fife areas. People under 17 should contact the Gender Identity Clinic at Sandyford in Glasgow.
